8 weeks to freedom. This was it.

2013 was the year that people would look at my business in awe and I would finally “arrive”.

Little did I know what a rollercoaster ride I was in for…

The moment I hit the purchase button on B-School (not an affiliate link) last year, was the moment my career changed forever.

I literally felt my aura ignite with energy, excitement, nervousness and hope, all in one second.

I’d done my dirty work as a web designer, I’d done numerous online courses, but I wasn’t quite cracking this self employed thing the way I wanted to be. I wanted more, I knew I had more and I knew that B-School was THE ONE!

Warning: B-School is not just a business school. It’s deep, emotional, life changing work that will make you cry, more than once or twice, along the way.

It’s now one year later and as I’m watching all the new B-Schoolers enter the most supportive facebook community that I’ve ever been a part of, I feel excitement for every single one of you. I remember writing my first message on that wall, introducing myself and confessing my excitement to start the program.

Of all the incredible things I’ve learnt from participating in B-School, there is one thing in particular that I’m only just beginning to grasp. It’s taken me a year to really believe it and really put it into practice.

Stop waiting for someone else to give you permission to do what you really want to do.

You can do it.

You will find a way.

Believe in yourself 110% because 100% is not enough.

Become aware of your limiting thoughts and scrap them. Replace them with positivity.

So much has changed in my life over the course of this 12 month period, I couldn’t possibly include it all in this one post. However I can tell you that through the good times and the tough times, every failure, every lesson and every aha moment, I had to personally keep pushing myself to move forward. To keep on searching. I felt I was getting closer and closer to my true self and my true calling in this world.

With every new package I created, every new piece of B-School training I ingested, every new client that I worked with, little secrets were revealed to me along the way. Like pieces of a grand puzzle. And it’s as if I’m starting to almost “remember” why I’m here, rather than discovering it.

Don’t listen to that little voice inside your head that will keep saying, “Don’t be crazy, you aren’t experienced and smart enough to pull that off.” But don’t fight that voice either. Acknowledge it and alchemize it into it’s positive form.

“You are experienced and smart enough to do this.”

It’s your job to share your knowledge, however weird it may seem to others and however far off your current path that may be.

There are no rules in life. You are free to be you. Only you set your limitations.

A few lessons I’ve learnt over the past 12 months:

  1. Don’t try to be Marie. Or anyone else for that matter. Develop your own style.
  2. Don’t become obsessed with completing every module perfectly, you have them forever and your business will change along the way so don’t procrastinate on the details, move forward.
  3. Keep your website simple, it’s going to change A LOT along the way so don’t waste money trying to make it do fancy shit that you think will make it look cool – concentrate on your message and your purpose. The fancy stuff can come later.
  4. If you’re shy, stay shy. You don’t have to make videos to succeed online.
  5. You have NO IDEA where you and your business might be a year from now, be open to anything.

I’m going to be participating in B-School once again this year and if 2013 was anything to go by, 2014 should be a blast!

See on the inside ladies (and gents!)

Awesome! This is my first year – I have some ideas about an online business – something in the fitness industry – but that’s all I know – I’m super excited to see where this journey takes me..tears and all ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for a great post – it’s reassured that what I’m currently feeling (apart from the excitement) is normal! ๐Ÿ™‚
